Historic European baking molds are used to produce our line of beautifully rendered papercasts. Many of our molds were originally carved hundreds of years ago.
Our paperclay (recycled paper) is molded and the dry papercasts painted in pigmented beeswax, gilded in 18k gold or silver, and polished to a soft lustre. Our surface treatment gives the piece a protective finish that is sunlight and dust resistant. Polish the papercast surface with a soft cloth to bring out the gilding's shine.
Each papercast is uniquely painted, but can be ordered in basic tone ranges. Matted with archival board (no glass needed), we frame in a 1.5" beaded walnut synthetic wood frame. Special colour treatments are available by request. Unframed matted pieces are found in a separate section.
